Missing a part that is no longer sold, or need to fit a new element to an existing one? 3D scanning combined with 3D printing lets you recreate a shape without a technical drawing.
How the service works
- Description and photo – tell us what the element is, what it is made of and what it is for. Dimensions and loads help.
- Scan – we scan objects from 15 to 200 cm with a Creality scanner with 0.1 mm accuracy.
- Model – we clean the scan and prepare it for printing or modification.
- Print – we print the part in a suitable material (e.g. PET-G, ASA, ABS or nylon).
What we cannot scan
3D scanners have limitations. Difficult or impossible to scan are:
- transparent and translucent surfaces – glass, clear plastic, resin, car headlights,
- shiny and mirror-like surfaces – mirrors, chrome, polished metal, freshly painted gloss,
- deep black surfaces – matte black plastic, dark rubber, black velvet,
- completely flat surfaces – a large smooth wall, flat doors, sheet metal without embossing,
- fine, repetitive and openwork structures – hair, fur, thin meshes, items thinner than a few millimetres (e.g. coins, keys).
What to prepare
- a few photos of the part from different sides,
- approximate dimensions and the material of the original,
- what the part does and what loads or temperatures it faces.
